Samhakdo Cruise offers sightseeing cruises around the major attractions of Mokpo on the sea. During the day, they operate the Seascape City Tour, and in the evening, they offer Sunset and Fireworks Tours. Departing from the old coastal pier of Samhakdo Island, the cruise passes by Mokpo Maritime Cable Car Tower, Mokpodaegyo Bridge, and the Dancing Ocean Fountain before returning to the departure point. There are also many food stalls gathered around the pier area, providing ample enjoyment for visitors.

Samhakdo Island is a small island off the coast of Mokpo that has been incorporated into the mainland due to silt accumulation. The island is now home to many family-fun attractions like the Marine Science Museum, a mini golf course, and a yatching marina. The walkway around the park also offers beautiful views of Mokpo by night.

Another popular set menu is the “Hongeo Ilpumsang” (premium skate set menu), a sumptuous table featuring dishes made with skate. Don’t miss the hongeoaeguk (fermented skate liver soup).

Grassland Restaurant specializes in seafood dishes made with fresh cutlassfish and blue crabs caught near Mokpo. Their popular menu items include galchi jjim (steamed cutlassfish) seasoned with over 10 different sauces, and kkotgesal bibimbap (blue crab bibimbap), which features raw blue crab meat seasoned with chili pepper powder and mixed with rice. The bibimbap is served with seaweed sprinkled on top, and diners can mix the seasoned crab meat with the rice to enjoy. The meal also comes with nine side dishes.

⊙ Baekseong Restaurant (백성식당)


Baekseong Restaurant is a restaurant in Mokpo famous for its delicious traditional set menu, including white rice, soup, and several side dishes. Simply tell the staff the number of people in the party, and they will serve about 16 different side dishes along with white rice. The main menu is fish and soup. Fish dishes are made using fresh fish caught in Mokpo, varying from season to season. Spicy marinated crab is served as a side dish to go with rice, and it’s a delight for the palate. It gained more fame after appearing on the TV show “I Live Alone (2013~)” when comedian Park Na-rae visited the place. It is also worth noting that the food in Jeollanam-do is seasoned with salty seafood and has a rich taste of Korea, which is worth trying.
