Hagye-ri in Okcheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, is the hometown of Jeong Jiyong, the poet who wrote the poem “Hyangsu” (Nostalgia). The Jeong Jiyong Memorial Hall is located next to Jeong Jiyong’s birthplace. The gallery has a Literature Exhibition Hall, which is divided into four parts: Jeong Jiyong’s Chronological History, Jiyeong’s Life and Literature, Jiyong Literature Map, and Exhibition of his Original Copy of Prose and Poem.

At the Literature Experience Center, visitors can learn more about literature through various multimedia platforms. Daebakjip serves saengseon guksu (fish noodles), a folk dish of Okcheon. It is a noodle soup made by boiling noodles in a broth made by simmering freshwater fish for 12 hours. It began as a meal for fishermen who used to fish by the river in the old days, who began putting noodles into their maeuntang (spicy fish stew). Other interesting dishes include dori baengbaeng (glazed deep-fried minnows), tteokgalbi (grilled galbi patties), maeuntang (spicy fish stew), and bingeo twigim (deep-fried pond smelt).

Jangnyeongsan Mountain is a famous mountain in Okcheon, known for its beautiful natural scenery, pine trees, maple trees, and cypress trees that grow wild there. Entering the 3.1-kilometer-long Healing Forest, you can encounter gardens, wooden bridges, and wish rocks. From spring to autumn, there are also various experiences such as a forest commentary program and a forest healing program. Jangnyeongsan Recreational Forest, which surrounds the beautiful mountains of Jangnyeongsan Mountain and the Geumcheon Valley with clear and clean water like a folding screen, is a place with a different charm for each season. It is equipped with various convenience facilities such as an outdoor music hall, seminar room, large restaurant, campsite, convenience store, and healing time house (foot bath, steam bath, etc.). Reservations for lodging and campsites can be made through the website.

Chojeong Haenggung is a hanok stay and hanok experience center in Chojeong Culture Park, Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do. The house has a historic royal connection, as King Sejong stayed here for some months in 1444 while being treated for an eye problem. There are 12 guestrooms, all with an underfloor-heated ondol room and either a daecheongmaru (large wood-floored hall) or a numaru (raised wooden floor space). All rooms have a bathroom and toilet. Located approximately 16 kilometers northeast of Cheongju
City, Chojeongyaksu Mineral Spring is acknowledged as one of the three major mineral springs in the world. Chojeong Mineral Spring was discovered around 600 years ago and became nationally known ever since as the source of naturally carbonated water that has a piquant and cool taste. It is said that King Sejong (1397-1450, reign 1418-1450) visited the springs in 1444 and stayed here for 60 days to treat an eye infection. The daily yield of carbonated water here is 458 tons, which is used for producing natural soda drinks. There are presently two mineral water plant facilities in the area. The healing effects of Chojeongyaksu Mineral Spring are presumed to come from the abundant radium contained in the water, which is effective in treating eye infections and skin ailments.

Gayeongdang is a hanok stay in Ochang Hanok Village ( part of Ochang Miraeji Agricultural Theme Park) in Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do.
