Designated as a national fishing port in 2008, Gungpyeong Port is famous for its beautiful sunset. It is a small port well equipped with a fish market offering fresh, delicious seafood. Visitors can enjoy fishing at the charming Fishing Pier, which attracts small boats and anglers. The Hwaseong Silk Road walking trail with wooden decks runs along the Hwaseong coastline, making it a beloved resting spot for walkers and hikers to enjoy the beautiful scenery. The food truck street stretching toward the parking lot offers a variety of foods including famous fried shrimp, fried squid, fish cake, and hot dogs, and the Gungpyeong Port plaza opens a summer water playground, making it a great place for families to enjoy water play.

Spectacular sunset spot
This is the place where Choi Ung appeared while reminiscing on his most memorable trip, and you can see the wonderful sunset. The scenery created by anchored fishing boats and seagulls hovering overhead is quite stunning. The wooden deck extending to the sea, a popular attraction of Gungpyeong Port, is not just a promenade or breakwater, but a ‘fishing pier’. It is very popular as a facility that allows you to fish on the deck without having to go out to sea on a boat. The sunset seen from the deck is much more spectacular than in the drama.

Gungpyeongni Beach, featuring a two kilometer long and fifty meter wide sandy shore, offers a variety of activities, including water sports and tidal flat experiences. Visitors can enjoy views of the sunset over the sea from the deck-built Gungpyeong Sunset Trail. Open twenty-four hours, this path is illuminated by scenic lighting at night.
