Huinnyeoul Culture Village (흰여울문화마을)

Huinnyeoul Cultural Village is a cultural community village. Huinnyeoul-gil, a representative original downtown area of Busan, was named for its meandering stream that resembles the appearance of white snowfall at the foot of Bongnaesan Mountain. In December 2011, old houses was remodeled and reborned as a unique culture and art village that exudes the energy of Yeongdo.

⊙ Jeoryeonghaean Coastal Walking Trail (절영해안산책로)

Jeoryeonghaean Coastal Walking Trail, once a restricted military area, stretches for 3 kilometers along the rocky coast of Busan. The 2-hour walking trail offers different views of Busan as it wind in and out of the rocks as well as providing fun sites along the way including a boat playground, stone towers, and colorful mosaics.

Huin-yeoul Coastal Tunnel was formed in December 2018 to help the elderly and the infirm walk smoothly without going through the steep stair section between the piano stairs and wave square near Jeoryeonghaean Coastal Trail. The 70 meter tunnel not only give easy walking route, there’s also a photo zone, lightings and more for visitors to enjoy. The lights within the tunnel are lit from 09:00 to 23:00.

AREA6 is a multipurpose cultural space made to promote the artisans and artists of Busan as a part of an urban regeneration project. On the first floor, there are a total of nine spaces, including F&B brands, select shops, and information centers. The second floor is a co-working space and lounge, and the third floor consists of a rooftop and seminar room that anyone can freely use. It was designed sensibly by keeping the existing buildng’s shape without compromising volume and scale. Each space, such as a small alley that leads from the yard like a maze, is full of individuality and is fun to look around. Busan’s local brands, such as Ineoajimae, Busan Drinks, and Samjin Fish Cake are located here, and a flea market is also held irregularly.

Fish cakes are one of the most popular snacks in Busan. Among many fish cake makers in the city, Samjin Fish Cake is the oldest fish cake producer. Its main store in Yeongdo looks like a bakery shop. Visitors can choose among a variety of fish cakes and there is a separate space in the store where they can eat purchased fish cakes. The experience hall on the second floor provides a chance for visitors to make their own fish cake.

⊙ Yeongdodaegyo Bridge (영도대교)

Yeongdodaegyo Bridge, connecting Nampo-dong and Yeongdo Island, was the first bridge to connect the mainland to one of the nearby islands in Busan. The bridge lifted to allow ships to pass between the south and north ports, and made a passage for ships anywhere from two to seven times in one day. When the bridge was first constructed, many people would gather to watch the strange spectacle of a bridge rising up to point to the sky. The bridge remains a famous landmark of Busan even to this day.

In the late 19th century, Korea’s first modern shipyard was established, and there are still more than a dozen repair shipyards and about 200 industrial companies in the area. It is said that the name of the village was born from the sound of a hammer hitting the surface of a rusty boat. In “My Name,” it appeared as Inchang-si, the main stage of gangsters, and the unique atmosphere harmonized well with the content, adding to the dramatic fun. Haneul Observatory is known for its amazing view. On clear days, visitors can see far islands including Geojedo. With a translucent floor skywalk and a place for couples to put keylocks, it’s a popular place to go on a date. Visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the ocean and also go on a stroll by walking down the wooden deck to the Joryeong Coastal Walking Trail. The ocean below the observatory is a popular snokelling area and it is only a 20-minute walk to a pebble beach. Huinnyeoul Culture Village is also connected to the observatory for easy access to one of the more popular attractions of Busan. The observatory is also known for being a beautiful sunset spot.
