The Tamna Cultural Festival holds significance in reinterpreting the cultural heritage and community spirit left by the region’s forefathers from a contemporary perspective to develop them into modern values, while widely promoting Jeju’s unique culture and arts. Furthermore, by linking with the National Sports Festival, it aims to create a venue where culture and sports harmonize, and to expand into a cultural festival where residents actively participate and co-create. Through this, the festival seeks to foster communication and harmony that spans generations and regions, explore the possibilities of future culture based on Jeju’s identity, and pass on the value of Tamna culture to the next generation.

Samseonghyeol is a revered site featuring three mythical holes, believed to be the origin of Jeju island’s mythical founders: Go, Yang, and Bu. This sacred location is enveloped by ancient trees, standing for centuries, and remarkably, the holes are known to never fill with water, no matter how hard it rains or snows. Adjacent to these remarkable natural phoenomena, visitors will find an exhibition hall and a media gallery dedicated to telling the lore of Samseonghyeol.
